Chronology of the Conflict

  • March 15, 1744 - War begins
 
  • May of 1744 - The French fortress in Louisberg in Cape Breton Island is captured
 
  • November 28, 1745 - The French attack Saratoga New York and over 100 innocent civilians are killed and captured. 
 
  • August of 1748 - Schenectady, New York is attacked by the French and their allies
 
  • October 18, 1748 - The Treaty known as the Aix-la-Chapelle ended the war. The treaty returned all of the conquered land and restored the pre-war borders. Neither the French or the British "won" this war
