Under the leadership of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Civilian Conservation Corps lasted from 1933-1942. During it's time of active service, this program helped to employ approximately 3  milllion people and has been credited with boosting the Depression-era economy but also assisting with the future social progress and the begining of environmental activism ("CIvilian Conservation Corps (CCC)").
