Cherokee Government

The Cherokee Government was focused on their towns; they were considered the primary government unit. Each town consisted of two seperate governments. One, known as the white government, consisting of the Indian Chief. The white government ruled in times of peace; the red, however, ruled during times of war. The Great War Chief, messangers, and many others made up the war government. The fate of prisoners and other captives was decided by the red government.
